Jo Gale our Head of KS4 has passed all DFE training for Senior and Advanced Mental Health Lead.
She is developing our whole school approach through working with staff students and families as well as linking to outside agencies.
To oversee and monitor the provision of mental health and the wellbeing, resources and interventions for all students, staff and families across the School.
To promote an environment of open understanding and value for all which can support honest interactions and sharing of mental health and wellbeing needs.
To review School policies to ensure they support the mental health and wellbeing needs of all
To lead the whole school mental health and wellbeing strategy and all interventions and policies relating to it.
To monitor the impact of our mental health and wellbeing work across the school.
To develop effective ideas that allow students and parents/carers to have a voice in the mental health and wellbeing strategy
To assess mental health and wellbeing needs of students, staff and families through PAM and monitoring questionnaires and wellbeing surveys.
To recognise and reward students who show positive peer mentoring support that impacts learning or social times
To work with the healthy school programme to ensure links between physical and mental wellbeing are promoted and supported for students, staff and families.
To recognise where curriculum topics may have an impact on mental health and wellbeing for students, staff and families and ensuring the teachers are well prepared for managing these moments
To provide ongoing CPD to staff and contribute to parent workshops when required
To signpost all members of our community to available resources and interventions in and out of school.
To signpost staff to additional support that is available and offer 1:1 support sessions where requested
To work in partnership with local agencies who are involved in supporting our students / families.
To support families in making referrals to additional interventions and providing details when requested.
To support KS4 parents and carers with an open door approach to contact and problem solving advice
To stay up to date with all latest developments in mental health and wellbeing support in schools.
