PSHEC

At this school PSHEC development of all students is naturally an important responsibility of all staff.

The expectation is that students will develop respect and positive attitudes that equip them with the required skills and knowledge to become active and responsible citizens both within school and the wider community.

Opportunities for discussion and learning for this take place during Tutor times and the daily Community sessions. In addition students have access to extended and frequent pastoral support where issues can be addressed discretely and appropriately according to the need of the individual or group.

The topics discussed respond to the needs of students, staff and wider community and may involve:

  • Sexual health and relationships
  • Drugs and alcohol
  • Smoking
  • Body image
  • Careers
  • Bullying and peer pressure
  • Discrimination
  • Healthy and active lifestyles
