Food Preparation and Nutrition

In Food Technology lessons students focus on being able to develop a range of important Life Skills in researching, budgeting, designing and preparing recipes.

This year students are taking a culinary tour of the countries of the World and learning about how to cook a range of foods from countries such as France, Italy, and other parts of Europe and the rest of the World. Whilst working on each country students will find out about cultures and traditions of each country as well as learning some key phrases of the language.

Students have the opportunity, each term, to complete an AQA Unit Award, which is a qualification from a nationally accredited scheme. These awards can help students with further study independent living and can help to raise self esteem.
