Our Curriculum

KS4

At KS4 all students follow the core curriculum similar to mainstream schools along with a choice of 2 options in Yr10 and a further 2 in Yr11 if they do not reintegrate back to mainstream.  This curriculum is supplemented with PSHE topics taught in tutor times and transition IAG delivered in drop in sessions throughout the year.

The learning week includes the following GCSE and Level 2 courses:

• AQA English Language and English Literature
• Edexcel Maths
• AQA Science Biology

Options chosen from:

• AQA Art & Design
• AQA Art & Design – Photography
• WJEC Food and Nutriution
• BTEC Sport
• BTEC Music
• BTEC Childrens Play, Learning and Development
• BTEC Travel & Tourism 

The curriculum and planning is personalised for each student through their pen portrait which identifies their specific learning styles, any needs and the strategies that work best for each student.  In addition many will have a personal learning plan which supports any specific needs in the classroom with their learning which are then consistently applied across all subjects for that student.
